Welcome
to Mountain Metro
Church

United in Hope, Joined in Faith

Our historic Outdoor Chapel is on the National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historical Resources. In 1908 the D.L. Bliss family donated two acres of land to the Episcopal Church for the construction of an outdoor chapel. Robert M. Watson and his youngest son, Robert H. Watson, built the chapel. The property is now owned by Mountain Metro Church & Anchor Point Lodge.

Church Service

We gather with friends and visitors for an outdoor service in the beautiful outdoor, open air, stone chapel. Guests are welcome to join us for a casual, simple, yet beautiful service with our resident chaplains and Anchor Point Lodge team.

Anchor Point Lodge is Lake Tahoe's newest retreat center on the historic grounds of Mountain Metro's property, including The Stone Chapel, historically known as The Chapel of Transfiguration. Anchor Point Lodge partners with churches, ministries and families to provide a restful and refilling retreat experience for small and large Christian groups – our guests leave feeling inspired and renewed. It is the heart of Anchor Point Lodge to provide a five-star atmosphere that is accessible to all who to come.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Ephesians 4:2
